A DIFFICULT CHOICE
Author Unknown
************************************************************

One day my mother said to me, "If you could choose just who you'd be..."

"...Would you be prince?..."

"...Or queen?..."

"...Or king?..."

"Just spose you could be anything?"

It seemed quite wonderful to me...
...To think of all that I might be.

Of royal kings and princes bold...
...Who wear gold crowns and spectors hold!

I thought and thought for most a day!

I thought so hard I could not play!

But every choice had one bother...

Unless I'm me, I'd not have mother.
